I was wondering if I had commented upon this and told you how much I adore you for this tutorial when.... I just discovered I had even forgotten to fav this! *head smack moment*

So now that I'm here, and that is done, I shall proceed onwards and tell ye how much I love you for this awesome tutorial. X'D Especially since... unlike you and your awesome digital works, my nooblie idea of digital painting is literally throwing paint onto the canvas with my... er... brush? (Feels wacky to call it a brush, since one is technically squiggling around with a stylus!)

Either way! Thank you! Thank you! For sharing some of your tips of awesomeness! I'm going to be trying these out and practising what you mentioned here.

This is kind of extra super useful for me since... I just got lumped with the task of teaching 'illustration' as well. And while I really like THAT, I'm kind of nervous at teaching digital painting when... I'm hardly some super digital painting pro! @___@ So I'll probably be sharing your awesome art works and tutorial with them. X'D

Yakra! You live! *mega hugs!* :D
Oh dear, I hope this is useful then! X'D I do actually paint a lot when I digi art and this -is- kind of a new thing to me or something I don't usually do but when it works, it works! If something is unclear, just say here and I will try to explain better! ='D

I really enjoy your tutorials! Lately I've been finding my own colouring style pretty boring/blahish, so I've been trying to find a new way to colour - I think I'll give your method a try, cause I always love how it turns out! In the same vein, maybe in the future you could do a line art tutorial as well! Because I looove your lineart *u*

Ooh, I hope this can help! Yesh, there is one more trick to help the bland coloring (I struggled with that too!) but maybe I should live stream it ...eventually!
For lineart, I don't know if I do anything out of the ordinary, maybe I will just LS something from scratch. ^^;

That's Awesome!
IT's stange because, even if my coloring technique is almost the same, I fail to get a such fine and nice render >_<
maybe I should try adding the smooth soft shading of step  #4 ^^

Thanks a lot for this useful tutoral! :)

:hug:!
You're most welcome!
It's nice to experiment every now and then. I don't usually use this method but it turned out great this time around. :)
The overlay mode on top of the layers also helps smooth the colors a bit but it can make them too washed or in similar shades, causing some lose of detail. My usual idea when drawing is, "Draw until it looks good to you!" XD;;
